Woodworking tools arranged in traditional workshop

Founded on Craftsmanship

What began as a small workshop in Brisbane's industrial heartland has grown into one of Queensland's most respected furniture manufacturing operations. Our founder, drawn to woodworking since childhood, established maroon-cloud with a clear vision: create furniture that honours both the timber and the people who will use it.

Today, our 2,000 square metre facility houses traditional hand tools alongside precision machinery. This balance allows us to achieve both the efficiency needed for commercial projects and the intimate attention required for one-of-a-kind residential pieces.

Sustainable Sourcing

Every plank of timber entering our workshop comes with a story we can trace. We partner exclusively with certified sustainable forestry operations across Tasmania, Victoria, and Queensland. This means you receive furniture crafted from responsibly managed resources.

  • PEFC and FSC certified timber suppliers
  • Preference for salvaged and reclaimed wood
  • Zero-waste workshop practices
  • Low-VOC finishes and adhesives

What Guides Us

Three principles shape every decision in our workshop.

Material Integrity

We select timber for its character, not just its cost. Each piece is chosen for how its grain, colour, and texture will serve the final design.

Time-Honoured Techniques

Mortise and tenon joints, dovetails, and hand-cut joinery form the backbone of our furniture. These methods have endured centuries because they work.

Client Partnership

Furniture should reflect the people who use it. We involve clients at every stage, from timber selection to final finishing choices.

Our Workshop

Located in Fortitude Valley, our facility combines the warmth of a traditional joinery with the capabilities of modern manufacturing. Visitors often comment on the smell of fresh-cut timber that greets them at the door.

The workshop floor is organised into distinct zones: rough milling where raw timber is prepared, joinery where components take shape, assembly where pieces come together, and finishing where hand-applied oils and lacquers protect and enhance the wood.
